Immigration Physicals

What is an Immigration Physical and who needs one?

Individuals applying for a green card (lawful permanent residence) must undergo a physical examination by a licensed medical professional who has been authorized by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). The purpose of this physical is to check green card applicants for pre-existing conditions that would preclude their applications from being approved.

During an Immigration Physical, the physician will check for communicable diseases and provide any required vaccinations that have not yet been received. A chest x-ray and blood tests will also be conducted.
